Privacy Policy

1. Information We Do Not Collect

VocabPin does not require account creation, registration, or third-party logins (such as Apple ID, Google, or social networks). We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

• Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
• Location data or GPS coordinates.
• Device identifiers for advertisers (IDFA) or tracking cookies.
• Microphone input, voice recordings, or speech data.
• Payment or financial details (VocabPin is currently completely free with no in-app purchases or subscriptions).

2. Local On-Device Storage (App Group)

All your learning preferences and history are stored strictly on your device within an isolated local sandbox (iOS App Group: group.com.huwan.languagewidget). This includes:

• Selected language pairs (native and target learning languages).
• Proficiency level selections (CEFR A1 through B2).
• Favorite words, saved bookmarks, and custom vocabulary lists.
• Widget display settings (rotation intervals, pronunciation toggles, and appearance themes).

This data never leaves your iPhone and is never synchronized to external servers.

3. Zero Third-Party Trackers & Advertising

VocabPin contains zero third-party advertising SDKs, zero marketing trackers, and zero behavioral analytics frameworks (such as Google Firebase, Meta SDK, or AppsFlyer). We do not monitor your browsing behavior or share any information with third parties.

4. WidgetKit Local Processing

All widget timelines and word rotations are calculated locally on your device by the iOS WidgetKit extension. VocabPin widgets do not log or transmit your screen unlock timestamps, device glance patterns, or lock screen activity.

5. Audio & Pronunciation

VocabPin provides authentic pronunciation using pre-bundled, offline audio files and Apple's native on-device speech synthesis (AVSpeechSynthesizer). The app does not access your device's microphone and does not capture any ambient sound or user voice data.

6. Anonymous Diagnostic Data

If you have opted in to share diagnostic and usage data with Apple in your iOS settings, we may receive aggregated, completely anonymized crash logs and performance reports through Apple's developer portal. This information contains no personal data and is used solely to maintain app stability.

7. Data Deletion & Retention

Because all your data is stored locally in your device's sandbox, you have absolute control over it. Deleting the VocabPin application from your iPhone or removing the widgets permanently and irreversibly erases all locally stored preferences, bookmarks, and lists immediately.

8. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR)

Because VocabPin does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information from any user, it is fully safe for learners of all ages, including children under the age of 13. We strictly adhere to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make any modifications to our privacy practices in future updates, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Any changes will continue to adhere to our core philosophy of user privacy and local on-device processing.
